Pottery Experiences

I offer pottery throwing taster experiences at my studio in Brackley (NN13). Sessions last either 2 or 3 hours currently and ideally on a Saturday, however week nights are also an option a lot of the time.

What to expect...

I will give you an overview of the various tools used in the process of throwing a pot, including the wheel and kiln, followed by a demonstration of how to centre the clay on the wheel (the most difficult and important part!), pulling the walls of the pot, and various decorating techniques. This will last 20-30 minutes.

The remainder of the experience will be you having a go at this under my supervision!.

You will hopefully end up with 3-5 pots which I will fire in the kiln, glaze, and then refire for you. From the day you do the experience, to getting your hands on the pots you have made will take approximately 6-8 weeks, after which I can either ship them to you for an additional £5, or you can collect from the studio.
